Don chéad uair riamh, imríodh craobhacha peile an chontaei gcomórtas Allianz Chumann na mBunscol faoi shoilse Ionad Barr Feabhais Fhionnmhacha, ar an Máirt seo caite. Faoi stiúr An M. Andréa, bhí an chraobh sroichte arís ag ár gcailíní.

Bhí sé ag stealladh báistí ó thus go deireadh ach níor chuir sé sin srian ar bith leis na peileadóirí. Ón gcéad speach den liathróid, léirigh siad le scil agus diongbháilteacht agus d’imir siad mar aonad chun an lámh in uachtar a fháil ar chailíní Bheann na gCaorach le scór 3-3 in aghaidh 0-3. Is mór an t-áthas a bhí ar an lucht tacaíochta, a bhí fliuch go craiceann ar an taobh line, nuair a d’ardaigh Abbie Ní Chatháin, captain na foirne, corn Roinn 1ar son na scoile. Cuireadh fáilte is fiche roimh an gcorn ar ais chun na Gaelscoile!

For the first time ever, the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Carlow County Gaelic Football finals were played under lights in the Centre of Excellence on Tuesday night last. Our girls, trained by An M. Andréa, qualified yet again for the Division 1 final.

Conditions were far from ideal as it poured rain from start to finish, but the team members were not in any way hampered by the weather. From the first whistle at 8 p.m., they showed all of their skill and determination and worked as a unit to overcome the girls from Bennekerry on a scoreline of 3-03 to 0-3. The rain-sodden supporters on the sideline were delighted to see team captain Abbie Ní Chatháin collect the coveted Roinn 1 trophy on behalf of the entire team. It’s great to welcome the trophy once more to An Ghaelscoil!
