Bhí bliots Ghlór na nGael ar siúl i Mí an Mheithimh i mbliana. Ó thosaigh an comórtas 25 bliain ó shin, ghlac foirne de bhuachaillí agus de chailíní páirt ar son na Gaelscoile gach bliain. Tá an comórtas peile seo dírithe ar phaistí Rang 5 agus faoina bhun.

Ós rud é gur tharraing foireann amháin siar ón gcomórtas ag an nóiméad deireanach agus toisc go raibh an-éileamh ar áiteanna do phainéal na gcailíní inár scoil, ghlac dhá fhoireann de chailíní páirt ann. B’í Anna Parr óm Rang 2 an t-imreoir ba óige a d’imir agus léirigh sí agusna cailíní eile scil agus crógacht ar an bpáirc pheile. Tháinig an fhoireann shinsir sa dara háit tar eis sár chluiche a imirt in aghaidh Scoil N. Fiacc.

D’imir na buachaillí ar a ndícheall freisin ach chaill siad amach ar áit sa chraoch an t-am seo.

The popular Glór na nGael blitz took place in June this year. Since its inception 25 years ago, we have fielded both girls’ and boys’ teams every single year. This football competition is for children from 5th class down.

Due to a team withdrawing at the last minute and the high numbers looking for a place on the school panel, two teams of Gaelscoil girls took part. Our youngest player was Anna Parr from Rang 2 who, like all the girls, gave a great display of skill and courage. The older team were runners up following a very close run match with Scoil Fiacc in the final.

The boys also played their hearts out and gave an excellent account of themselves, just missing out on a place in the final.
