Guímid gach rath ar na buachaillí agus na cailíní a ghlacfaidh páirt i mbliotsanna Mini Sevens sa Pheil Ghaelach, san Iomáint agus sa Chamógaíocht. Fuair an fhoireann iománaíochta cuireadh chun taispeántas a chur ar siúl ag leath am sna cluichí sraithe a bhí ar siúl i bPáirc an Chuilinnigh le déanaí. D’éirigh thar barr leis na baill foirne ar fad agus léirigh siad éagsúlacht bhreá scileanna.
Tá seisiúin thraenála do ranganna éagsúlsa fós ag dul ar aghaidh ag Clubanna Setanta agus Uí Anracháin.Buíochas speisialta le Leo McGough as Chorn Laighean a bhuaigh Raonta Stua Laighean chun na scoile agus a thug an deis do na páistí é a ardú! The hurling and camogie teams are looking forward to the Roinn 1 Cumann na mBunscol competitions which take place shortly. We send every good wish to the boys and girls who will take part in the Mini-Sevens Blitzes in Gaelic Football (boys and girls) and in hurling and camogie. Our boys were invited to take part in an exhibition match at half time during the National League matches at Dr. Cullen Park. All the team members gave a very good account of themseves on the day and the skill level was most impressive.
Setanta Hurling Club and O’ Hanrahan’s Football Club continue to provide training for various classes through the school. Special thanks to Leo McGough for bringing in the the Leinster Cup won by Mount Leinster Rangers and allowing the children to raise it aloft! We wish the Rangers every good fortune as they aim to capture the All Ireland Club title this weekend in Croke Park.
Swimming continues for Rang 1 (An M. Aisling) and Rang 3 (An M. Aisling) in Graiguecullen pool for a few more weeks.
Our first ever cricket team is training hard. They recently attended a training day in the youth centre and were delighted to be presented with a set of cricket equipment.
This week sees our annual Céilí Mór which will be held, as usual in the open air on Friday, as part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge events.
A number of staff members travelled to Carlingford in County Louth recently to attend the Physical Education Association of Ireland conference and associated workshops. All of this events will taken into consideration in our efforts to attain the Active Schools Flag.
