Active Schools’ Week 2017

Our Active School Week which ran from Monday 12th June to Friday 16th June was a great success . A great variety of activities were organised for the children and the fine weather during the week added to the sporty atmosphere which prevailed in the school all during the week. We began with our Sports day on the Monday during which children participated in an activity for a length of time before moving on to a different activity. Activities for 2nd to 6th Class ranged from wellie throwing, an obstacle course, soccer, giant Jenga, tug of war, various races, a blindfold peg game and water sponges. Infant and First Classes had orienteering, the playground, parachute, obstacle course, various races and games organised for them. A boot-camp style class was held in the hall until lunchtime on Monday (and again on Tuesday.) It was a good start to a fun filled active week which saw various classes participating in dance, basketball, rowing, cycling, tennis, athletics, Simon Says, tag rugby, cricket, football, hurling, camogie, soccer, yard games, bling your bike, active homework and an art competition.

Míle buíochas le gach duine a chabhraigh chun seachtain iontach taitneamhach a chur ar fáil do leanaí na scoile. A huge ‘Thank You ‘ to all who helped make the week a great success, we really appreciate it.
